Washing down the sins on every cop’s beat.
People selling souls for money or Things,
When you’re in the grave, you won’t need no diamond rings--
Soldiers drop bombs from up in the sky,
Shoot folks they don’t know, with no reason why;
Rivers run red, with blood and with oil
Sourcing out jobs, a few cents for your toil--
Trapping the children, taking their lives
Blue lights on the corner, spies on your phone
Tapping in your business, nothing’s your own--
What do you do, when everything’s dying
Who do you follow, when the big chiefs are lying?
Where do you go, when your home is washed away
When you think you’ve lost God ,
How do you pray?
The rain has to fall so the sun can shine;
For new life to bloom, the old life is dying,
