Times are unbelievable in this country. A lot of people are sleepwalking, oblivious to the fact we are running out of oil and the small clique in power wants to grab it, use it up, trash the natural environment, and take all the profits, leaving the rest of us who knows where.

We do not have to let this happen. We still live in somewhat of a free country. The founders of the Constitution provided for a government with checks and balances. We can elect a new president and some gutsier Congress people in 2004, which will not solve the problems but may open a way for people and business and govt. working together around the world, to solve them.

At this point I'm favorably impressed with Dennis Kucinich, Dem. Congressman from Cleveland Ohio. While mayor of Cleveland, he refused to let a private power company take over the local city electric utility. The banks, who were in cahoots with the takeover, defaulted on the city's loans and Kucinich was defeated in the next election. When the truth came to light, and people realized that Kucinich's stand had saved them a lot of money by preserving the city-owed electric company, they elected him as president. Kucinich also spoke out against the Iraq war and Bush tax cut. He grew up poor and he knows the value of a dollar and what it's like not to have a good job. Check him out....
